“SPLENDOR” by Dina Goldstein | New Exhibition

The name of the new exhibit opening at Neve Schechter shortly before Purim refers to the depictions of splendor, magnificence, sensuality and physical beauty found in the pages of Megillat Esther. The exhibit is a combination of art exposition and performance art. Displayed in the gallery will be Dina Goldstein’s newest work, photographic collages based on Dutch vanitas paintings that contrast the transience of life with intricate details of beauty, as seen through the embroidery, lace and rich Flemish painting. Events will be held twice-weekly throughout the exhibit’s run (advance registration required) in which Goldstein will transform her artistic works into a performance art presentation by projecting the collages onto the wall and bringing them to life, sweeping the audience into the art and allowing a sense of magic to occur.
